The Management of Uganda House has embarked on an ambitious plan for
Additional Construction / Refurbishment of the Complex at
Plot 10 and Construction of a Multi-Storey Car Park at
Plot 8 Kampala Road.
The development would be carried out in 3
main phases;
Phase 1: This involves the development of
5 levels of the existing building on Plot 10
Phase 2: The extension and refurbishment
of the development on Plot 8, i.e. the semi complete
parking structure.
Phase 3: The refurbishment and upgrade of
the office tower on Plot 10
Management has
commissioned Symbion as the company to carry out the works
for Phases 1 & 2, the former now done up to the end of pre
contract design and the latter now at concept level.
Phase1: Is Plot 10 development and this
comprises of:
The proposed plan will include:
- Construction of an additional structure to
provide 718m2 of lock-ups - Level 1
- Construction of additional parking - Podium
Level 2
- Construction of a roof to cover the existing
shopping arcade, to create two additional areas of
300m2 and 430m2 for shops and
other business centres - Podium Level 3
- Construction of a half roof to create a 653m2
food court and an extra 653m2 commercial
or
food court, 445m2 office suits in place
of the current sitting rooms of the flats and an
extra 445m2 for professional services,
Two 766m2
Recreational spaces, including one with a void
roof and another Food Court
but of 975m2 with common service areas -
Podium Level 4 (First Floor)
- Construction of a roof on the podium and
modification of the structures to cover un-utilized
areas, creating an additional 240m2 for
specialized or professional office areas - Podium
Level 5 (Domestic Staff Quarter)
- Refurbishing of office spaces - Tower Level 6 -

- Refurbish and modify entire floor, Level 17,
into Penthouse or club to be equipped with internet
and telecommunication facilities - Tower Level 17
- Installation of 3 New Lifts and 4 Escalators as
appropriate.

Summarily, the
Construction of a Multi-Storey Car Park at Plot 8
Kampala Road will involve the development of Seven
Storeys
into a modern and computer controlled car park with a
one stop shopping centre "Shop and Taxi home"
Supermarket frontage opening on Kampala road.

- Construction of 1,480m2 of Buy & Taxi
Home Supermarket - Kampala Road Level
- Construction of 7 levels of parking, each with
the capacity to hold 30 cars
Uganda House Location
Conrad Hilton of Hilton Hotels was quoted as saying that there are three major things that contribute to
a successful business enterprise and they are LOCATION, LOCATION and LOCATION!
In terms of location it is difficult to imagine a better location than that of Uganda House,
being on Kampala Road, in the very heart of the Central Business District of Kampala, with all major banks in close proximity and Kampala City Hall, the Bank of Uganda and
the Parliament Buildings only a five minute stroll away.
